Linda
Mcminn
March 21, 1939 – November 14, 2024
A celebration of life for Linda Louise McMinn, age 85 of Milan, will be held on Sunday, November 17th, 2024, at Latham's Chapel Baptist Church near Milan, TN at 3PM with burial to follow in the Latham's Chapel Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be held on Saturday, November 16th, 2024, from 5-8PM at Bodkin Funeral Home and on Sunday from 2-3 PM at the church.
Born in Milan, Tennessee on March 21, 1939, she was the daughter of the late Thomas Van Buren and Bertie Lewis McMinn. A proud member of the Medina High School Class of 1957, Linda was active as a cheerleader and a member of the Glee Club, enjoying her youth to the fullest.
Throughout her life, Linda was known for her hard work and dedication, especially as a Farmer's Wife. She was affectionately called "Boss Lady" by the field hands as she worked right alongside them, tending the cotton fields, working in the tomato patch, and planting and digging sweet potatoes. Linda also worked at ITT, Atwood School System as a lunchroom cook, and Douglas Nursing Home as a Dietician. Her resilience and spirit of determination were apparent in everything she did.
Linda was also a wonderful cook, and she treasured time spent with her family. She loved vacations in the Great Smoky Mountains and attending Southern Gospel Singings, where her love for music and fellowship shone brightly.
She is survived by six children Steven Coleman (Kim) of Milan, Richard Coleman (Leann) of Lavinia, Thomas B. Coleman (Shawn) of Lavinia, Randy Coleman (Stacey) of Greenfield, Tena Fowler (Mike) of Atwood and Melinda Hayes (Chris) of Milan and known as Mama Linda to her 18 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great-grandchildren.
Linda was preceded in death by two husbands, Virgil Coleman and Thomas A. McMinn, a daughter, Sharon Denise Coleman, a granddaughter, Amy Beth Fowler, and a brother, Leonard McMinn.
Her family was her greatest joy, and her legacy of love and strength will live on in them.
We take comfort in knowing that Linda is now at peace, singing in the heavenly choir, surrounded by God's love and grace.
The family would like to express their deepest gratitude to The Arbors at Dogwood Pointe for the compassionate care Linda received during her time there.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or St. Jude Children's Hospital.
