Linda Lou
Walker
Aug 4, 1947 — Jun 30, 2026
Linda Lou (Beal) Walker, 78, of Milan, passed away peacefully on June 30, 2026, at Trenton Health and Rehabilitation Center in Trenton, Tennessee, where she had been a resident for the past five years. Linda was born to the late Joe Elmo Beal and Lou Elzie (Collins) Beal on August 4, 1947, in Milan, Tennessee.
She graduated from Lee High School in Huntsville, Alabama in 1966. After graduation she began working for Bell South in Huntsville and later AT&T in Birmingham, Alabama, and worked in communications for the next 25 years before moving back home to Milan to care for her elderly parents. She became a legal secretary, working in Jackson and Humboldt, Tennessee, until her retirement in 2015.
Loving thoughts from her nieces and nephews: To know Linda was to be cared for in the purest form. She had a unique way about her that let her nieces and nephews feel like they were her own children because she loved them just as purely as any mother loves her own children. She was a safe place, a true support and listener. She didn’t pull any punches, she told it like it was. She could pull the truth out of you and make you feel better for it. Her smile and laughter let you know everything was going to be alright. She loved music and just made life fun. Linda also had a passion for her dogs, Paddlefoot and Josie--from having photos made for Christmas cards to helping to do the laundry--the dogs bore her personality and fun nature.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents, Joe and Elzie Beal, of Milan, and her brother Joe Thomas Beal of Indianapolis, Indiana. She leaves behind to cherish her memory many family members, many of whom live in or near Milan; as well as nieces and nephews from Mason, MI; Three Rivers, MI; Indianapolis, IN; and Plainfield, IN; and her great-nieces and great-nephews from Seminole, Fl; Holt, MI; Three Rivers, MI; Lansing and Charlotte, MI. She stayed up on all the family goings-on, and even though she wasn’t one to travel, her family knew that she was only a phone call away. Linda also leaves many life-long friends who stayed connected through phone calls and visits.
Linda’s family wishes to express their deepest gratitude to everyone at Trenton Health and Rehab who cared for her with much tenderness, love and devotion throughout her years there.
A private graveside service will be held at Oakwood Cemetery in Milan at a later date. Should you wish to make a donation in her memory, the family requests that donations may be made to an area humane society/shelter of choice.
