Mamie Ruth Taylor Born May 23, 1934 Died July 13, 2020 On July 13, 2020 Mamie R. Taylor known to family and friends as "Mama Mamie" passed away at JMCGH. She was a devoted Christian and a member of Madison Hall Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents Guilford and Nellie (McMinn) Sloan; two sisters Eunice Smith and Mildred Rushing; one brother Carl Sloan. She is survived by her son James Taylor of Lobelville, TN; her daughter Ruthie Taylor Harrell (David) of Dickson, TN; one sister Pauline McNeil (Larry) of Finger, TN; two Grandsons Byron Hatch of Jackson, TN and Benjamin Hatch of Murfreesboro, TN; four Great Grandchildren; one Step Granddaughter Elizabeth Nunley of Franklin, TN; three Step Great Grandchildren. Mama Mamie was a great southern cook. She enjoyed baking, embroidering, and making baby quilts for family and friends. Due to the COVID-19 Virus, a private graveside service was held at Hopewell Cemetery in Lavinia, TN. A Celebration of Life will be held when circumstances permit.
