Margaret Buiel Scott Taylor, 87, died Wednesday, June 24th at her home in Milan, TN. She was born on May 5, 1933 to T J and Ethel Scott and was raised in the Moores Chapel community outside of Milan, TN. Margaret attended Milan High School where she was a gritty, go-getter guard on the basketball team. She graduated in 1951 and married her high school class mate, John Riley Taylor on March 11, 1955. They resided in Milan all 65 years of their married life and were blessed with four children; Scott (Franky) Taylor, Sue (Bobby) Sharp, Shayne (Stacy) Taylor and Mary Lewelling Hall. Margaret worked at Southern Belle, the Milan Arsenal, Milan Credit Union and for Essex Cable Company before retiring in 1995. She chose to follow Christ at an early age and did so faithfully for the remainder of her life. Margaret was a longtime, devoted member of the Northside Baptist Church in Milan, TN. Mog or Mama Mog, as she was affectionately known by many, shared her quick wit, candid conversation and BIG heart freely. She was deeply loved. Margaret is survived by her husband and children as well as her grandchildren, Lindsey (Jake) Ramsey, Maddie (Conrad) Ratchford, Riley (Chris) White, Clare (Mac) Barnes, Mary Jean Hall and Camille (Daniel) Noe; her greatgrandchildren Kinlee, Channing and Blakelee White, Sage Ratchford, Aurora Noe; brothers Gary and Van Dey Scott and her sisters Carolyn Blake and Nancy Guthrie. She is preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Randall Scott. Graveside service for Margaret will held on Saturday, June 27, 2020 at Oakwood Cemetery at 4 pm.
