Funeral service for Martha Louise Fly, age 85 of Milan, will be held on Saturday, January 6, 2024, at 2 PM at Bodkin Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Oakwood Cemetery in Milan. Visitation with the family will be held on Saturday from 10 AM – 2 PM at the funeral home.

Martha was born in Milan on September 25, 1938 to Nick and Alene Vinson Welch. After graduating from Atwood High School in 1957, she worked in the automobile industry and eventually retired from Fisher Body (General Motors Company) in Chicago.

She is survived by four children Rick Fly of Milan, Steve Fly (Elaine) of Trezevant, Janice Kurtenbach (Jay) of Crest Hill, IL and Vicky Saenz (Dave) of New Lenox, IL, a brother Donnie Welch (Janet) of Paris, nine grandchildren, five great grandchildren and one great-great granddaughter. Martha was preceded in death by her husband Chapman Fly, a son Gary Fly, parents Nick and Alene Welch, a brother Ronnie Welch and two sisters Peggy Inman and Jenny Woodard.
