Mary Jo Bost, age 89, passed away suddenly at home on February 20, 2016. She was born to Herscel and Mary Francis Wood on July 16, 1926 in Milan, TN. Soon after moving to Memphis in 1957, she began a long and distinguished career at Kelloggs where she served as shift supervisor for 32 years. Her retirement years were spent with husband, Willie, consisting of extensive travel of North America. She kept journals of every trip, which her family will treasure. Mary Jo was loved by many and would liven up any dinner table, as she surely is now doing in Heaven. She was an avid reader, but active with friends and community until her final days. Mary Jo leaves son, James Richard II of Cordova, TN, daughters Sally Smith (Troy) of Marion, AR and Nancy Brown (Roger) of Bartlett, TN. She leaves grandson Justin McPherson-Outlaw (Eddie) of Jackson, MS, granddaughters Shannon Webb (Jerry) of Arlington, TN, Maggie Smith of Marion, AR and Amber Williams (Jason) of Arlington, TN. She leaves six great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and her beloved dog Bear. Mary Jo was preceded in death by husband Willie, son Will Jr (twin of Sally), daughter Pat Berry, sisters Betty Toronyi and Betty Smith, and brothers Frank and Jerry Wood. Visitation will be held Thursday, February 25th at Bodkin Funeral Home in Milan, TN from 12-1pm, followed by funeral service before burial at Pisgah Cemetery, Atwood, TN, 1-2pm. A celebration of life for Mary Jo Bost will be held Sunday, February 28th, 2:30-4:30pm at Bellevue Woods clubhouse, 1768 Appling Rd, Cordova, TN, 38016.
