Funeral service for Mary Ann Bruce, age 94 of Cedar Grove, will be conducted by Bro. Steve Hamenn on Saturday, January 28, 2023, at 1:30 PM at Bodkin Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Oakwood Cemetery in Milan. Visitation with the family will be held on Saturday from 12 1:30 PM at the funeral home. Mary Ann was born on December 27, 1928, to Arthur Montgomery and Bernice Fowlkes Alexander in Jackson. She attended First Baptist Church in Jackson where she received baptism in her youth. She attended Forest Heights United Methodist Church in Jackson during her adult years. Mary Ann graduated from Jackson High School and West TN Business College. She worked for many years as a secretary for numerous companies including TVA. Mary Ann was fond of coffee, sweets, painting, and traveling, but her most important attribute was her love for her family. She is survived by three children, Jeannie Randle (Mike) of Cedar Grove, William Albert "Bill" Bruce of Memphis and Thomas Howard Bruce of Memphis, two grandchildren Rebecca Brown (Eric) of Milan and Jake Fletcher of Cedar Grove, two great-grandchildren Keith Fletcher of Rockford, TN and Mady Jo Brown of Milan, four step grandchildren, seven step great-grandchildren and three step great great-grandchildren. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband William Albert Bruce and a granddaughter Rachel Fletcher, sister, Sarah Alexander, and brothers, Joe Arthur and A.M. Alexander. Pallbearers are Jake Fletcher, Eric Brown, Rob Caldwell, Chris Randle, Greg Moore, and Greg Albritton. Honorary pallbearers are Bill Bruce, Tom Bruce, and Mike Randle.
