Mary Louise Bynum, age 98, died on Saturday, March 4, 2017 at Milan General Hospital.
Louise was born in Gibson County, Tennessee on January 1, 1919, the daughter of the late Samuel Seymour Stinson and Ruby Alice Claybrook Stinson. She worked as the bookkeeper for Milan Public Utilities for 22 years and retired in 1974. She was a longtime member of Chapel Hill Baptist Church. Louise loved to read. She also enjoyed painting and drawing. Louise is survived by her grandchildren, Kim Watson and husband Erin of Knoxville, Tennessee; Donald Bynum, Jr. and his wife, Nicki of Hendersonville, Tennessee; one sister Frances Helen Stinson Nelson of Milan, Tennessee; one brother Jerry Joe Stinson and wife Iris of Milan, Tennessee; and five great-grandchildren: Olivia Watson, Emily Watson, Harper Bynum, Miller Bynum and Ramsey Bynum. She was preceded in death by her late husband, John Sidney Bynum; son, Donald Stinson Bynum; sister Morie Alice Stinson Zietts; and brother Raymond Otis Stinson.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Tuesday, March 7, 2017 at Bodkin Funeral Home with Bro. Dale Denning officiating. Burial will follow in Gibson County Memory Gardens. Pallbearers will be Philip Nelson, Tommy Jones, David Nelson, Stephen Nelson, Jeff Stinson and John Stinson.
The family will be receiving friends on Tuesday, March 7, 2017 from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM prior to the service. The family is requesting that memorial contributions be directed to the building fund of Chapel Hill Baptist Church, 76 Chapel Hill Rd, Milan, Tennessee 38358.
