Mary Lynn Downey, age 98 of Milan, passed away on April 23, 2021 at her residence. She was born on November 2, 1922 to Leonard Smith and Kathleen Garrett Hamilton in Humboldt. Mary Lynn was a member of the Milan Cumberland Presbyterian Church and she was retired from the Milan Arsenal. She is survived by her children Suzanne Gardner Richardson of Nashville and Mike Gardner of Milan, two sisters Betty Strayhorn (James) of Medina and Marth Stoltz of Medina, two grandchildren Shannon Shaffer and David Richardson and three great grandchildren Raegan Richardson, Connor Richardson and Isabella Richardson. Mary Lynn was preceded in death by her parents, her husbands Billy Gardner and Bernard Downey, a brother Rene Hamilton and a sister Vivian Estes. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 1, 2021 at 3 PM at Bodkin Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Oakwood Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be held on Saturday from 1 3 PM at the funeral home. Memorials may be directed to the Milan Cumberland Church or to the St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital.
