Mary Kathryn "Kay"Isberg passed away at the Humboldt Health and Rehabilitation Center on Monday, July 31st after a short illness. Funeral services will be held at 2 pm Wednesday, August 2, 2017 at the Milan Cumberland Presbyterian Church with Reverend Doy Daniels officiating. Burial will follow in the Centerville Cemetery in Medina. The family will receive friends from 12 pm until service time at the church. She was born December 7, 1923 in Hickory County, Missouri to the late John and Ethel Currier. In June of 1942, she wed Olan Isberg to whom she was married for 74 1/2 years. Olan preceded her in death in December of 2016. Throughout his long Air Force career, they traveled the world together; living among many postings such as the Philippine Islands and Labrador. At his retirement from the Air Force, the made Wichita, Kansas their home for more than 20 years before moving to Milan. While never having children of her own, countless people around the world have considered her "Mom". One of her great joys in life was serving in the nursery of their church no matter where they lived. Over her long life, Christian service was the focus of this family. In the workforce, she served as a schoolteacher, and as an office manager for various dental practices and car dealerships. Besides her loving husband, she was preceded in death by her sister and brother-in-law Wilma Nelson (Lyle) of Milan, and her brother and sister-in-law John Currier (Elizabeth) of Jackson. She is survived by a nephew John (Bonnie) Nelson of Milan, niece Kathy Currier of Honolulu, Hawaii, niece Vickie Currier of Jackson, a great niece and nephew, two great-great nephews, and a great-great niece. Memorials may be directed to the Milan Cumberland Presbyterian Church, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, or the Milan Fire Department Christmas toy fund.
