Mary Evelyn Jones was born October 8, 1932, in Trenton, TN. She grew up in Frog Jump, TN with her 8 brothers and sisters. She had many stories of her and her family picking cotton and helping take care of her siblings when they were young. She knew what it was to live with little, and therefore valued what she did have - family. Her favorite pastime was taking care of babies. She was most joyful and happy when she was holding and rocking a baby - and generations of babies have loved her. Mary lived in Milan for many years and worked at the Milan Army Ammunitions Plant for 36 years. After retirement, she continued to work at the Harris Ceramics shop and in the laundry at NHC in Milan. She was still talking about trying to get a job even last year. If Mary was anything, she was a hard worker. She was honest and real, and many times a force of nature. But left in her path were all the people whose lives she made better. She has cared for so many of us. Mary was preceded in death by her father, Ollie Hensley and mother, Flossie Hensley. Siblings, Harvel, Jewell, Herman and Jerry "Sonny" Hensley, Nancy Martinez, Maxine Emery, Lorene Tormoen and survived by her sister, Joanne Smothers. She was also preceded in death by her two daughters, Linda Jane Chilcutt and June Evelyn Wilson, both in 2018. She is survived by and will be missed deeply by her eight grandchildren, Jeff Back (Shelley), John Back (Michelle), Chris Adams (Alicia), Stephanie McAdams (Michael), Zack Wilson (Christy), Matt Wilson, Kory Wilson (Candice) and Raven Garrett. Also by her 21 great-grandchildren, Bailey and OReilly Back, Justin Back, Gabriel Adams, Meredith, Madelyn and Mia McAdams, Caitlin, Canaan, Grace, Terra, Cameron, Julianne, Cullen and Sasha Wilson, Jasper and Lanie Wilson, Landon, Layton and Leveyn Wilson and Reyna Bermudez and two great-great grandchildren, Bonnie and Jakob. Mary passed peacefully from our sight on October 2, 2021 at 12:20 am at home surrounded by people who loved her. She has left behind a legacy of love and dedication to family and will be missed so much, by so many. Funeral services will take place Wednesday, October 6, 2021 at Bodkin Funeral Home in Milan, TN. Visitation will be from 11am - 1 pm with Funeral service at 1pm. Burial to follow at Hartsfield Cemetery in Trenton, TN.
