Funeral service for Mr. Michael Dale Smith, age 69 of Lavinia, will be held on Monday, November 7, 2022 at 1 pm with burial to follow in Double Springs near Milan. Visitation with the family will be held Sunday evening from 5 8 pm and on Monday from 11 am 1 pm at the funeral home. Mike was born on March 15, 1953 to Leon and Helen Hendrix Smith in Gibson. He retired from the City of Milan Public Works Department and he attended the Sitka Church of Christ. Known as an avid outdoorsman, he spent many hours shooting and working at the Southgate Gun Club in Lavinia. Mike is survived by his wife Celisa Bryant Smith of Lavinia, three children Kelly Thomas (Jimmy) of Lavinia, Josh Smith (Jessica) of Milan and Eric Young (Kelly) of Milan and eight grandchildren Hunter Thomas, Harrison Thomas, Mariana Grace Smith, Cody Harris, Ace Young, Cayden Harris, Carter Harris and Cash Young. Beside his parents he was preceded in death by a brother Ricky Smith and a sister Cindy Smith. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Kirkland Cancer Center in Jackson, TN in memory of Michael Dale Smith.
