Funeral service for Norma Norene Dyer, age 91 of Milan, will be held on Friday, November 29, 2024, at 2 PM at Bodkin Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Oakwood Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be held on Friday from 1 – 2 PM at the funeral home.

She was born on July 12, 1933, in Milan to James and Ena Solomon Fanning. Norma graduated from Gibson High School in the class of 1951, and she was a long-standing member of the Mount Pisgah Baptist Church near Bradford. She retired as a tele-communications operator for the Jackson Madison County General Hospital.

Norma is survived by two sons Herbert Enloe Dyer, Jr. (Deborah Jeanne) of Fredericktown, MO and Don Dyer (Denise) of Humboldt, six grandchildren Lori Wheeler (Kris), Susan Harris (Blake), Wes Dyer (Cara), Caleb Dyer (Tina) and Travis Dyer (Shaila) and eleven great-grandchildren Abigail Dyer, Grantland Dyer, Isaac Dyer, Rhyly Dyer, Dottie Dyer, David Dyer, Ella Wheeler, Madelyn Wheeler, Hadley Harris, Hudson Harris and Brinley Dyer.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers James Fanning and Max Fanning.
