Obituary

Patricia Anne Rainey, lovingly known to her family and friends as Pat, passed away peacefully on June 26, 2026, at the age of 88. Born on September 19, 1937, she carried the maiden name Arnold and, throughout her remarkable life, served as a cherished member of her family and her community.

Patricia’s legacy is most deeply felt by those who knew her best. She is survived by her beloved son, Mark Rainey, who brought her great joy and pride. Her passing is also mourned by her siblings: Andy Lee Bargaehr, Mark Bargaehr, and Jeanne James. Each of them shared in the many milestones and memories that made Patricia’s life so vibrant.

She was preceded in death by those dearest to her heart: her devoted husband, Clemiel Edward "Ike" Rainey; her father, Lonnie Arnold; and her mother, Jetty Bullington Arnold. The bonds Patricia maintained with both her immediate and extended family were full of warmth and steadfast love—a testament to her generous spirit and gentle nature.

Patricia was an active and devoted member of the Atwood First Baptist Church, where her faith guided her and where she built enduring friendships within her church family. The church community was central to her life, shaping her values and supporting her through its fellowship. She spent her working life in California, where she was the General Manager for Pomona Foundry.

Family, friends, and all whose lives Patricia touched are invited to celebrate her memory and pay their respects during visitation, which will be held on Monday, July 6, 2026, from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church Atwood, 1360 W Main St, Atwood, TN 38220. A funeral service will follow at the same location beginning at 11:00 a.m., offering an opportunity for all to gather in tribute to Patricia’s long and meaningful life.

Following the service, Patricia will be laid to rest at Pisgah Cemetery, located on Tennessee 77, Atwood, TN.

As those who loved Patricia reflect on her passing, they do so with appreciation for the years shared, the enduring bonds forged, and the memories that will remain in their hearts forever. She will be deeply missed and fondly remembered for her unwavering faith, her caring nature, and the indelible mark she left upon all who knew her.
