Funeral service for Elder Buron Ray Churchwell, age 80 of McKenzie, will be held on Thursday, January 27, 2022 at 2 PM at the Harmony Primitive Baptist Church near Bradford with burial to follow in the Harmony Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be held on Thursday from 10 AM 2 PM at the church. Mr. Ray was born on March 2, 1941 to Arlie Elmer and Margaret Bomar Churchwell in Trezevant. He was the pastor of the Pleasant Grove Primitive Baptist Church in McKenzie and he was a retired carpenter. He is survived by his wife Carolyn Churchwell of McKenzie, three daughters Lora Wofford (James) of McKenzie, Deborah Duncan (David) of Lavinia and Dana Churchwell of Murfreesboro, a brother J. W. Churchwell (Doris) of Arlington, a sister Loyce Johnson of Huntingdon, five grandchildren Brittany Clinton, Tristen Fuller, Trace Fuller, Tyson Fuller and Dallas Churchwell and three great grandchildren Kylie, Reece and Kash. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a son James Buron Churchwell and several sisters.
