Funeral service for Charles Ray Cook, age 82 of Atwood, will be held on Friday, August 29, 2025, at 12 PM at the Howse Baptist Church in Atwood with burial to follow in the Howse Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be held on Friday from 11 AM - 12 PM at the church.

Ray was born on August 10, 1943, to George and Luella Crossett Cook in Atwood. After his mother passed away, George married LaNelle Cook, who took on the role of raising him.  He graduated from Atwood High School in 1961 and was a member of the Howse Baptist Church. Ray retired from Carroll County CO-OP after spending many years working at the Milan Arsenal as a manager.

He is survived by his wife Joan Cook of Atwood, a daughter Carole Harvill of St. Charles MO, a stepson James Gregory Bowen (Dawn) of Dickson, a brother Haskel Cook of Atwood, a sister Janice Lewellen (Dr. Richard) of Dunlap, TN, two grandchildren Austin Charles Harvill and Samuel Lewis Harvill, III, one great grandchild and one great grandchild arriving soon. Ray was preceded in death by his parents.
