Richard Allen Spreitzer passed away on October 26, 2026, at Jackson Madison County General Hospital after an extended illness. He was 56 years old.

Richard will be remembered with affection for the simple joys that meant so much to him. He was an avid fisherman who found happiness on the water, and he loved baseball, especially the Chicago Cubs. Those who knew him will remember the warmth of those interests and the way they reflected his steady spirit and the pleasures he held close throughout his life.

He is survived by his brothers, Joe Spreitzer and his wife, Suzanne, and Dave Spreitzer. In the hearts of his family, Richard’s memory will remain a lasting presence, carried forward with love and remembrance.

He was preceded in death by his father, John Spreitzer; his mother, Linda Cook Spreitzer; his brother, John Spreitzer; and his sister-in-law, Sandy Spreitzer. Their memories, joined with his, remain an important part of the family’s story.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at a later date. Richard will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by those who knew him.
