Rosie Marie McBroom, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away on August 16, 2026, at the age of 82. Born on April 10, 1944, Rosie’s life was a testament to dedication, warmth, and unwavering love for her family and community.
Rosie’s professional journey began at Milan Arsenal, where she committed many years of hard work before retiring. Retirement, however, did not mark the end of her contributions. Rosie went on to own and operate Lots of Love Daycare, embodying her nurturing spirit in her care for children, and along with her late husband Thomas, The Aquarium pet store, reflecting her entrepreneurial drive and love for animals. Throughout her career and endeavours, Rosie touched countless lives with her kindness, enthusiasm, and steadfast integrity.
Rosie’s heart belonged first and foremost to her family. She is survived by her cherished daughter Cathy Baker and husband Kenneth; her step-son Jerry McBroom and wife Shannon; and her grandchildren Amber Hood and husband Richard, Tyler Nelson and wife Shelby, Justin McBroom and wife Brittney, Zachary McBroom and wife Kaitlyn, Lucas McBroom and wife Janae, and Amanda McBroom. Her great-grandchildren—Easton, Addison, Alex, Everly, Brianna, and Mason—brought her immense joy and pride, representing the enduring legacy of her love and guidance.
Rosie also leaves behind her devoted siblings: brother Wayne Jones and sisters Virginia Coleman, Nell McClearen, Evelyn Jones, and Sue West and husband Ron. Their close bonds provided support and shared memories throughout her life.
She was preceded in death by her father Walter Jones and mother Ruby Neisler Jones, whose values deeply shaped her character. Rosie also mourned the loss of her beloved husband, Thomas McBroom, as well as her step-son James Jarrett and step-daughter Paula McBroom. In addition, her late sisters Hazel Thornton and Dorothy Holiday remain fondly remembered.
The impact Rosie made on the lives of her family and all who knew her will never be forgotten. Her compassion, determination, and enduring strength leave behind memories that will be treasured always.
