Funeral service for Ms. Ruth Elizabeth Sloan Jenkins, age 95, will be held on Sunday, May 7, 2017 at 2pm at Bodkin Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Double Springs Cemetery near Milan. Visitation with the family will be held on Sunday from 12 -2pm at the funeral home. Ms. Jenkins was a member of the Concord Cumberland Presbyterian Church where she was a choir member and served in the CPU Womens Ministry. She was also a retired employee of the Milan Shirt Factory. She is survived by one son, Larry Sloan of Jackson, three daughters, Loretta Davidson of Atwood, Betty Bedford of Arkansas and Bobbie Churchman of Drummonds, TN, two sisters, Annie Cook of Bruceton and Joan Bowen of McKenzie, five grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and seven great-great grandchildren. Ms. Jenkins was preceded in death by her husbands, John D. Sloan and Will D. Jenkins, parents James H. and Stella M. Haley Blazer, two brothers, Leon Blazer and Eugene Blazer, three sisters, Frances Vincent, Dorothy Cox and Katherine McCollum and one great granddaughter.
