Funeral service for Ruth Elizabeth Drake Whitby, age 62 of Milan, will be held at 2 pm on Saturday, December 28, 2019 at Bodkin Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Gibson County Memory Gardens near Milan. Visitation with the family will be held on Saturday from 12 to 2 pm at the funeral home. Ruth was born on October 15, 1957 in Milan to William Currie and Ruth Brooks Drake. She was a member of the Milan First United Methodist Church and for many years, she worked for Fisher Construction Company in Milan as Office Manager. Besides her parents, Ruth was preceded in death by brother Brooks Drake and a sister Harriet Ann Burge. She is survived by her husband Phillip Whitby of Milan, two sons Drake Whitby and Zac Whitby both of Milan, four sisters Cathy Gravenmier of Milan, Kay Shearin (Butch) of Jackson, Carolyn Drake of Milan and Diane Camper (Johnny) of Milan, one sister in law Nancy Whitby of Medina, twelve nieces, four nephews, eight great nieces and fifteen great nephews, one great-great niece and four great-great nephews. Memorials may be directed the St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital or to the American Heart Association.
