Funeral services for Mrs. Shirley Mai Bray, age 85 of Milan, will take place at 2:00 PM Friday, May 21, 2021, at the Bodkin Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Pisgah Cemetery in Atwood. Visitation with the family will be Thursday evening from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM and Friday from 12:00 PM until service time at the funeral home. Shirley was a member of First Baptist Church in Milan. She loved gospel music and sang in The Messengers quartet. She retired from ITT where she was the Contract Administrator. While working at ITT she won a global business award. Her picture was on display at the Tennessee State Capitol for being one of the first businesswomen succeeding in industry. She loved her family very much and will be greatly missed by all that knew her. Surviving Family: Husband - Thomas Bray of Milan Daughters - Vicki Gordon and husband Doug of Milan, Beverly Carnal and husband Steve of Milan, and Kimberly Nelson and husband Barry of Three Way Grandchildren - Laura Smith (Travis), Megan Hickerson (J) Clint Carnal (Jennifer), Suzanne Green, Gina Carpenter (Peyton), and Josh Wagner (Jackie) Great Grandchildren - 15 Shirley is preceded in death by her parents, Arvil and Nova Cochran Pinson; brothers, Fred Pinson, Claude Pinson, Fred Harrison, and Virgil Harrison; sisters, Beulah Pinson, Pauline Epsey and Virginia Nell Harrison. Memorials may be directed to Le Bonheur's Childrens Hospital.
