Funeral services for Mr. Bruce "Sonny" Wayne Kemp, age 72 of Atwood, will take place at 2:00 PM Thursday, December 3, 2020, at the Bodkin Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Hopewell Cemetery in Lavina. Visitation with the family will take place Wednesday evening from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM and Thursday from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM service time at the funeral home. Sonny was a long-time resident of Atwood. He retired from Steve Marsh Ford where he worked as a mechanic. He worked for over 20 years at Tatum Auto Parts. He took pride and ownership in his work always being the go-to man when there was a problem. Sonny raced at the dirt track for several years. He loved hunting, raising and training champion coon dogs, and especially introducing children to the hunting he loved so much. Surviving Family: Daughter - Melani Sidwell and husband Barry of Jackson Sisters - Barbara Floyd and Betty King Grandchildren - Julian White of the United States Marine Corps, Annalisa White, and Jacks Sidwell Sonny is preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Cora Foreman Kemp, wife, Kay Kemp, and four brothers and sisters. Memorials may be directed to West Carroll School System.
