Thelma Dean Todd Ross, age 94, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and dear friend to many, went to be with her Lord and Savior, July 25, 2019.
Thelma Ross was born to William Jennings Todd and Everette Dean Hargrove Todd on December 12, 1924 in Murfreesboro, Tennessee. She graduated from Central High School and attended Draughons Business College in Nashville where she studied Design. Due to World War II, many young people were called to Washington, D.C. Thelma and her older sister, Helen, heeded the call and Thelma worked in the war department at the Pentagon. After leaving Washington, Thelma moved to Nashville, Tennessee where she worked for the Veterans Administration. While working in Nashville she met the love of her life, Tommy Ross. After the third date request and Tommys unwavering pursuit, Thelma finally accepted and their love story began. They married September 3, 1955. Thelma worked for many years with the Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts and the Gibson County Republican Women. She enjoyed her hobbies of ceramics and quilt making. She was a faithful member of the First United Methodist Church where she belonged to Forum Sunday School class and the Wesley Circle. She was instrumental in helping Tommy launch Milan Express by answering a phone they had installed at their home while Tommy was making deliveries. Her most treasured work and that which she felt was Gods call on her life was of being a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.
