Thelma B. Whitehead entered Heavens gates on Wednesday, December 14, 2022, at the age of 94. She was born on October 6, 1928, to the late Rev. William D. Burke and the late Mary Hall Burke. Thelma will be remembered for her love of God and family. She was a member of First Assembly of God in Milan. For many years leading up to her passing, she was active in her church and in jail ministry. She was an avid prayer warrior and loved telling people about her Jesus. She enjoyed hosting gatherings at her farm in Cedar Grove, where she would often play the piano, while her friends and family joined her in song. Besides her parents, Thelma is preceded in death by her first husband Richard "Eddie" Brock (until his death) and late husband Charlie Whitehead; her son Larry Brock; and her sisters Mary Jo Wyatt and Nell Brister. She is survived by her daughter Linda Cottage of Milan, TN; her sisters Sue (Rev. Bill) Hall of Morrison, TN, and Patricia (Rev. Jerry) Massey of Paris, TN; her brothers Jimmy Burke of Morrison, TN and Rev. John (Jewel) Burke of Nolensville, TN; and 5 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great-grandchildren. A funeral service celebrating her life will be held on Tuesday, December 20, 2022, at 1pm at Bodkin Funeral Home in Milan, TN with burial to follow at Lexington City Cemetery in Lexington, TN. Services will be officiated by Rev. John Burke. Visitation with the family will be from 11am 1pm at the funeral home.
