Theresa Hickerson Easley born October 3rd 1954, aged 70, retired RN of 37 years, passed away peacefully in her home in the Skullbone Community during the dawning hours of Saturday, Jan 25th 2025 after a lengthy but undiagnosed debilitating illness. Her wish of cremation was honored by her family with a Celebration of Life Service to follow.

Theresa is survived by her father Mr Bill Hickerson; Husband of 51 years, Wayne Easley; Sons and spouses, William & Ashley Easley, Daniel & Heather Easley, and her Grandchildren Sage Leigh Easley and Summer Ava Easley.

Theresa was preceded in her passing by her mother Margarine Lamon Hickerson, and her stepmother Mary Corbin Hickerson.

Being an only child, she bonded with and adopted several others over her adult years. She considered Wayne's siblings David and Teresa Easley and Donna and Tommy Bivens as her own brothers and sisters. She cherished her closest confidant and friend Linda Fisher, Linda's daughter Melissa, granddaughter Lauren Grebe, and great grandchildren Ellie and Kira Grebe.

Theresa was a devout Christian from an early age that worshipped and served her savior at New Haven Baptist Church.

Theresa and Wayne met in 1972 on a blind date set up by mutual friends, courted for the blink of the eye, and married on July 1, 1973, remaining faithful to their vows and commitments for nearly 52 years.

Theresa began her nursing journey at Union University, shortly after graduation from Spring Hill High School. She completed her education and received her degree from Dyersburg State Community College in 1990. She served faithfully at Baptist Huntingdon, Milan General, Jackson Regional, and the final 15 years at Jackson General Hospital. By all accounts and respondents from patients, co-workers, and her community, she was revered and outstanding in all regards.

The Celebration of Life service for Theresa Ellen Hickerson Easley is scheduled for Sunday, February 9, 2025, at New Haven Baptist Church Milan, TN at 1 PM. Brother Randy Beals will be officiating the memorial at 4045 Graball Rd (AKA Hwy 187 or Racetrack Rd.)
