Mr. Tommy Phelan of Milan died on Thursday, December 30, 2021, at Jackson Madison County General Hospital. Mr. Phelan was born July 12, 1940, to the late Elmer and Oaunta Phelan in Trenton, TN. He attended Trenton schools and graduated from Peabody High School in the Class of 1958. He attended the University of Tennessee at Martin. He worked at the Milan Army Ammunition Plant for over 38 years, retiring in 2000. Mr. Phelan was a member and an elder of the Milan Cumberland Presbyterian Church. He is preceded in death by his parents and his daughter, Kim Phelan Edwards. He is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Carolyn Miller Phelan; son, Kevin (Belinda) Phelan of Mt. Pleasant, TX; step-daughter, Kimberly Mayo Cowart (Glen) of Louisville, TN; granddaughters, Miranda (Billy) Keith, Alyson (Ferdinand) Martinez, and Abigail Phelan; grandsons, Matthew, Michael, Anthony; great grandchildren, Ally Vea, Jenna, and Ben; sister, Mary Ella (Roger) Peterson of Mt Carmel, IL; special nieces and nephews, and many friends.
