Obituary

Virginia "Ginny" Ferrell Hall, age 86 of Milan, TN, began her journey home on November 4, 2019, with her loving husband Archie and family at her bedside. She was born on May 11, 1933, to the late Ralph "Ray" Ferrell and Pauline Anselmi Ferrell in Majestic, KY. They later moved to Edgarton, WV and she graduated from Magnolia High School in Matewan, WV. It was there she met the love of her life at the movies. Archie moved to Chicago for work, he served in the Korean War, and had returned to work at Ceco Steel in Chicago. She moved with her sister Ruby to Chicago and on December 7, 1953, she and Archie married. They loved to go camping and fishing. She was a Girl Scout Leader. She had a passion for the Chicago Cubs. She and their friend Dorothy Bonham and her kids never missed a home game. She studied under a physician for her nursing education and passed her exam becoming a Licensed Nurse in IL. She worked as a nurse and as an Assistant Administrator. She was proud to be a nurse. They moved from Crest Hill, IL and she left her job in Joliet, IL. Ceco Steel transferred dad to Milan, TN in 1975. Tennessee would not accept her nursing license, so she went to school at the practical nurse program in Jackson, TN graduating on June 29, 1979, and passed her exams on November 30, 1979. She worked at Douglas Nursing Home in Milan until she retired at age 65. She was a "mom" to all the kids she met. She loved family, friends, and patients. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers Ralph Ferrell, Jr., and Douglas McArthur Ferrell and two sisters Ruby Roeber and Dottie Compton. She is survived by her husband Archie Hall of Milan, sister Bertie Dotson (James) of Burton, MI, three children Diana "Dyane" Coleman (Jeff) of Jackson, Greg Hall (Charlotte) of Milan and Ralph "Dwayne" Hall (Mary Lou) of Winchester, NH, her sister in law Jo Ann Blakney (Lonnie) of Scotts Hill, TN six grandchildren Angel Medved of Milan, Danelle Slack (Adam) of Mayfield, KY, Channtel Coleman of Jackson, Joshua Hall (Amanda) of Auburn, AL, Jennifer Hall (Chris) of Milan and Sebastian Carosi of Van Couver, WA, eight great-grandchildren Christopher Neal, Karley Hampson, Kaden Slack, Ava Slack, Hazel Hall, Grayson Hall, Zander Griffith and Gianna Carosi, her special companion "Tips" and long time friend Dorothy Campbell of Milan and numerous nieces, nephew and friends.
